Use more formal, more precise words

Uses less common but more precise words: Restricting smoking would…

Uses common words and phrasal verbs: Cutting back smoking will…

Use the noun form instead of the verb form

Noun Form: The prohibition of cigarettes would lead to a much healthier society.

Verb Form: If the government prohibited cigarettes, it would lead to a much healtier society.
